The OCIC held our Annual Meeting and Holiday Reception on Wednesday, December 11 at The Wave located in Marblehead. The meeting included a Year in Review including the BRE Program, Business Advisory Council, sites and buildings, Experience Ottawa County and and update on the new Ottawa County Workforce Hub for Career Advancement.
Prior to the meeting, Chris Singerling welcomed Eric Wobser, CEO of the Greater Sandusky Partnership. Eric highlighted GSP’s mission and projects they’re involved in including the new Hampton Inn in Port Clinton.
Through the Erie County Port Authority (operated under GSP), the new development was able to $250,000 in construction costs. GSP is also working on the Intermodal Bike Path with the Ottawa County Parks District, with future plans to extend the bike path from the City of Sandusky to Ottawa County. Firelands Forward (also under GSP) recently submitted an Industry Sector Partnership (ISP) grant application that will help fund Ottawa County’s Hospitality & Tourism Academy next Fall.
