The OCIC was honored to have received the Outstanding Professional Service of the Year Award presented by the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce at their annual awards dinner on November 7th.
Ottawa County Improvement Corporation received our award for Outstanding Professional Service. This award recognizes a person or Business that; has experienced a history of positive customer feedback, creation of an innovative program or initiative in customer service, demonstrated excellence in their professional service industry, illustrates pride in job, has significantly contributed to the successful operation of a business. They are a significant contributor to the needs of the community, or a Leader who has demonstrated a positive effect on the economic improvement of Genoa Area. They are the pilot for so many advances in businesses large and small in our Genoa area and have been the driving force for bringing economic development. The OCIC team has been very engaged in economic development initiatives in Genoa over the past several years, which was a very intentional effort by their team. They have brought us into discussions on workforce initiates, have identified funding opportunities, and spearheaded in-person discussions with local business owners. Jessica has been a consistent participant in all of our monthly meetings, relaying information to our members and taking feedback. The plan also set the ball in motion for a new phase of growth in our area. Genoa’s new industrial site went live this past month, thanks to Chris’ advocacy, and that will be an engine for job creation and growth for years to come. Thank you to Chris, Jessica, Katherine and the rest of the OCIC team.
With strong economic growth and promising developments ahead, there’s a lot happening in the county. We’re proud to have an excellent team in place and supportive partners by our side. Thank you Genoa!
