OCIC held their Annual Trustee Meeting on Thursday, December 2 at Schedel Gardens in Elmore. OCIC Trustee and Associate members, elected officials and members from the Regional Growth Partnership (JobsOhio) were in attendance.
Before the meeting, Glenn Grisdale, Reveille, gave an update to the Full Board of Trustees on the strategic plan. Stakeholder interviews and visioning sessions were held over the summer. After obtaining that information the Reveille team had been working on the strategic plan development since October. The strategic plan development included building up the existing Four Pillars model. A “Fifth” overarching Pillar – Comprehensive Community Development – has been developed. Plan review and adoption will occur in January 2022 with plan implementation to follow.
Chris Singerling, OCIC Director, gave a recap on this year’s activities including business visits, new Revolving Loan Fund recipients, the RISE Program, OhioMeansJobs, Firelands Forward and Business Advisory Council efforts including the CEO Internship Program and the Skilled Trades Academy. Chris also introduced two new OCIC staff members to the full board: Ashley Spangler and Janet Quaintance. Both Ashley and Janet will be working in the OhioMeansJobs Ottawa County office.
