Ottawa County Resource Centre
The Ottawa County Resource Centre is a 25,700 square-foot building located in the Lake Winds Industrial Park, directly across from the Ottawa County Fairgrounds along Route 163 in Oak Harbor. The Resource Centre houses the Ottawa County Department of Job and Family Services, OhioMeansJobs Ottawa County, and the Ottawa County Improvement Corporation. The Resource Centre is 14 miles east of downtown Genoa and 21 miles west of Lakeside Marblehead, which is an ideal center location in Ottawa County. The Ottawa County Resource Centre is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.
The Ottawa County Resource Centre has four conference rooms, which are perfect for business meetings, training workshops, job fairs, and educational seminars. The Resource Centre is just 7 minutes away from downtown Oak Harbor, which allows for quick commutes for lunch breaks during meetings.
The Resource Centre has free WiFi, extra tables (6′ X 2′) and chairs, and 2 easels, but you must provide your own flip charts. Please bring your own laptop and/or a flash drive with you if you have a PowerPoint or notes to share during your event. You may setup the conference room to your liking (classroom style, theater, oval, conference, U-Shape). Food and beverages are acceptable, but we ask that you please clean up after use. There is no cost to use the conference rooms. Staff is available to help assist with setup for each conference room, if necessary.
Conference Room B (CRB) is a large conference room that holds 36 people, including tables and chairs. The room has a 72-inch T.V. and a soundbar, with two HDMI ports located on the wall underneath. We ask that you bring your own laptop with you. We also have one 15-foot HDMI cable to connect your laptop or tablet to, and an HDMI adapter if you have a tablet or an older laptop. To operate the T.V. you must check-in at the OhioMeansJobs Ottawa County center (just down the hall) to receive the remote, HDMI cable, and a presentation clicker. After use, please turn in the remote, HDMI cable, and presentation clicker. There is also a kitchen-like space with a sink, soap dispenser, and paper towels.

- Who can reserve a conference room at the Resource Centre?
The Resource Centre may be reserved area businesses, Ottawa County agencies, or nonprofit organizations. The conference rooms are intended for training seminars, business meetings, job fairs, workshops, and interview rooms. We are not open to the public for social functions (family gatherings, reunions, weddings, graduation parties).
- I’m booking a conference room, but I will need additional time to set up and break down. How do I move forward?
Please keep in mind the time that you’ll need to prepare for and break down your meeting. We recommend adding an additional 30 minutes prior to and after your meeting. This is a shared public space, so please try to be accurate as possible.
- What kind of A/V equipment do you have?
All conference rooms are equipped with wireless internet access. Conference Room B and Training Room B each have an over-head projector with a screen. There is a telephone in Conference Room B that you are welcome to use to dial-in callers for conference calls. We do have a PowerPoint presentation clicker, but not a microphone. We ask that you bring with you any necessary tools you need for your meeting.
- My meeting is before/after business hours. Are you open?
We ask for your patience as we are currently working to determine how to proceed with our business after hours; therefore, we are not scheduling conference rooms after hours. If you need to setup before your meeting, the earliest we can open the building is 7:00am.
- Where should my guests park?
There is a main parking lot out front of our main entrance with plenty of parking spaces.
- I need a particular seating set up. How do I go about that?
We are happy to accommodate conference space to area businesses at no charge. However, this is not a full-service event facility. We cannot always have rooms set for you, but we will do our best to have the room set up prior to your meeting.
- What if I have to cancel my meeting?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your meeting, please send a notice to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 24 hours (one business day) in advance of your meeting.
- Are there vending machines?
Yes. Vending machines are located in the central hallway, from the Computer Lab.
- Where are the restrooms located?
Restrooms are located in the main lobby and back by the vending machines.
