OCIC to Operate Ottawa County “OhioMeansJobs Center” Operation

Posted on: May 11, 2016

The operation of both Ottawa and Sandusky County OhioMeansJobs locations are set to expire July 1, 2016.  A new RFP for operational services was issued on March 25th, with all proposals due April 15. OCIC & WSOS Community Action Commission submitted a joint proposal and was accepted as the winning proposal! In a joint effort, OCIC will operate the Ottawa County OMJ center and WSOS will operate the Sandusky County OMJ center as of July 1, 2016. This will be a one to two year contract and will give OCIC and WSOS the chance to operate both OMJ centers, and determine how well the client services align with the employer services.

The strategic objective is for OCIC’s workforce services to become fully integrated – client and business services provided. OCIC will be meeting with progressive OMJ Centers in Area 7 territory to learn operational and customer service best practices.
